The National Institute of Health states that sleep plays a vital role in good health and well-being throughout your life. Getting enough quality sleep at the right times can help protect your mental health, physical health, quality of life, and safety. As such, here are some simple tips for a good night’s rest.
Many sleepers are sensitive to light and sound. Make sure to do your homework on the best blinds or curtains that can keep light and sound away from your sleeping ears. Believe it or not but blinds technology has come a long way and can truly block much or all of the light and sound from your bedroom. They also can be motorized, mod or funky looking but that has nothing to do with sleep, that’s just an observation on the latest technology of window blinds.
Sleep in a cool room. Around 65 degrees. Relying on a blanket means you don’t move around as much and helps facilitate the decrease in core body temperature that in turn initiates sleepiness. It can also help with the electric bill.
Try to go to bed at the same time each night.
Cut out caffeine late at night and no late night snacks. Avoid eating anything, at least, three hours before going to bed.
Invest in quality linens – at least 200 count preferably cotton. Experiment with weight and thickness to make sure it is perfect for you.
Take a warm bath before going to bed. Yeah. Try telling that to a man. Good luck.
There’s nothing more important to your overall health than a good night’s sleep. So tuck away these tips and get a good night’s rest.
